NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara baseball team will play a doubleheader at Cornell on Sunday, March 25 with first pitch at 12:00 p.m. This will be the teams’ first meeting since 1979.

  • The Purple Eagles split a four-game series with Michigan State March 15-18. The Spartans won the first game, 10-1, and the Purple Eagles won the second game, 3-2. Michigan State took the third game, 5-1, and Niagara picked up a 12-10 win in the final game of the series.

  • Outfielder Kyle Gallagher has a team-best .323 batting average. Gallagher and infielder Ryan Krainz lead the Big Red in hits with 10 each.
  • Krainz and catcher Ellis Bitar have a team-high four runs scored each and outfielder Jason Apostle leads the team in RBIs with five.
  • Seth Urbon (0-1) leads the Cornell pitching staff in strikeouts with 12. He has an ERA of 5.62.
  • Tim Willittes (0-2) has pitched the most innings for the Big Red with 17.1. He has fanned 10 batters and has an ERA of 6.75.
