NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The Niagara University women’s lacrosse team closes out its three-game home stand on Saturday, March 24 as they open conference play against the Iona Gaels. Opening draw is set for 1:00 p.m. and the game will be in support of the Wounded Warrior Project.Wounded Warrior Project
- The Purple Eagles are aiming to bring recognition and support to the Wounded Warrior Project at Saturday’s game. The Wounded Warrior Project aims to “honor and empower wounded warriors” by providing them with free programs and services to address their needs and fill gaps in government care.

- Niagara faced off against Bryant University in the programs’ first ever meeting on March 17. The Bulldogs defeated the Purple Eagles, 18-8.

- Lauren Paul leads the team with 30 ground balls this season and ranks 10th in the NCAA with 3.75 ground balls per game.
- Niagara ranks 13th in the nation in ground balls per game, averaging 21.83.
- Olivia Schroeder (2-1) has logged a little over 302 minutes in net this season and has made 51 saves.
On the Field: Iona Gaels (5-4, 0-0 MAAC)
- The Gaels rank sixth in the NCAA in save percentage (.530) and seventh nationally in scoring defense, averaging 8.56 goals against per game.
- Pamela Giordano leads the team in goals (23), points (24) and shots (65) while ranking second on the team in caused turnovers (11).
