The music of Rochester’s own Joywave has a way of getting stuck in your brain and staying their all day long. Their super-catchy electro-rock hooks have been mainstays on radio for the last three years and they have almost one million monthly listeners on Spotify. Whether it’s “Tongues”, “Destruction” or “It’s a Trip,” they have made themselves a go-to band for those interested in upbeat party music.
It has been three years have since the Rochester-based band’s “Tongues” and a collaboration with Big Data on “Dangerous” first put the band on the map. After creating their own imprint, Cultco Music, the five members of Joywave—Daniel Armbruster (vocals), Joseph Morinelli (guitar), Sean Donnelly (bass), Benjamin Bailey (keyboards), and Paul Brenner (drums) — committed themselves to an intense tour schedule, sharing the stage with The Killers, Metric and Silversun Pickups, as well as playing Lollapalooza and appearing on both Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Late Night with Seth Meyers.
The band is currently touring in support of their newest release, “Content” (released July 2017) and will be making a stop at Town Ballroom on Wednesday, March 7th for a sold-out show and what should be an entertaining evening and a party-like atmosphere.
