ALLEGANY — A 23-year-old Allegany man was charged Saturday with aggravated DWI, unlawful fleeing a police officer, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and other vehicle and traffic infractions.
According to New York State Police, Troopers attempted to stop Damian Greaves on I-86 in the town of Allegany when he was observed traveling 90 mph in a posted 65 mph zone. The Troopers activated their emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the vehicle when Greaves sped up trying to elude the Troopers. The pursuit lasted about four miles when Greaves was caught in traffic and stopped by the Troopers. During the interview, an odor of alcoholic beverages was coming from Greaves breathe and he made admissions to being intoxicated. SFSTs were administered and Greaves was subsequently arrested. Greaves submitted to a breath test where he registered a 0.18 percent BAC.
Greaves was arraigned in Allegany Town Court where he was released on his own recognizance by the judge with a court date at a later date and time.
