A standoff with a man barricaded in a home in West Amherst ended without incident Wednesday evening, Amherst police said, and the man was taken into custody.
The standoff followed a domestic incident and prompted police to order neighbors to be evacuated in an area around Pheasant Run Road and Vine Lane, Amherst Police reported. Police said the man was believed to be possibly armed.
Streets in the vicinity were cordoned off and members of the Amherst Police Emergency Response Team were brought to the scene.
