ATTICA — A 53-year-old Wyoming woman was charged Wednesday with official misconduct and second-degree sex abuse, accused of having an unlawful personal relationship with an inmate at Attica Correctional Facility.
According to New York State Police, Joann Thompson was charged following an investigation from September 2017 into an unlawful personal relationship with an inmate while employed as a civilian employee at Attica Correctional Facility.
Thompson was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Attica Court.
This case was a joint investigation by the New York State Police and the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.
