ATTICA — A 25-year-old Rochester woman was charged Thursday with criminal possession of a controlled substance, promoting prison contraband and endangering the welfare of a child, accused of attempting to smuggle prescription drugs and marijuana into Attica Correctional Facility.

According to New York State Police, Danielle Alexis Greene of 58 Grafton St., was visiting an inmate in the facility, accompanied by her nine-month-old daughter. She was found to possess Oxycodone and Percocet secreted on her person in her clothing and 11 latex glove finger-tips containing marijuana secreted within her person while attempting to enter the facility to visit an Inmate secured within.
The child was turned over to responsible immediate family members with the assistance of both Wyoming County and Monroe County Child Protection Services.
Greene was arrested and processed without incident, then arraigned in the Town of Warsaw Court by Justice Ronald Errington, who remanded her to Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail or $5,000 bond. She is slated to return to the Town of Attica Court on a later date.
Greene, who was currently supervised by Monroe County Probation for her September 15, 2016 conviction in Monroe County Court for second-degree attempted hindering prosecution will face a future probation violation hearing in Monroe County, in addition to the charges levied on Thursday.
