WARSAW — A 23-year-old Warsaw man was charged Saturday with second-degree assault, aggravated family office, second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal obstruction of breathing.

According to New York State Police, Cory M. Goodenow of the East Hill Motel attacked a 19-year-old female on Friday, including with a wooden bat.

He was also charged with a violation of his parole sentence at this time. Goodenow is on parole for his Sept. 16, 2016 plea and conviction in Wyoming County Court to second-degree attempted rape and was released from incarceration by NYSDOCCS back to the community on Dec. 21, 2017.

Goodenow was arrested and processed without incident and was then arraigned in the Town of Warsaw Court in front of Justice Ronald Errington who remanded him to Wyoming County Jail on No Bail.  Goodenow is to re-appear in the Village of Silver Springs court on a later date. Goodenow will also face a parole revocation hearing at a later date.
