BUFFALO STATE ATHLETICS
Buffalo State forward Zach Remers (Clarence/Canisius) was named the Buffalo State Athlete of the Week after leading the 15th-ranked Bengals to a two-game sweep over Neumann in non-conference play to open the New Year.
The sophomore biochemistry major tallied four points in the two wins. He netted a goal and two assists in Friday’s 5-3 victory and added an assist in a 3-0 win on Saturday, giving him four goals and 10 assists in 14 games this season. Remers has nine points (four goals and five assists) during his current six-game point scoring streak.
Buffalo State (11-3-1) has matched a school record with seven-straight wins and will look to extend that streak with a home-and-home series against Elmira this weekend. The Bengals will host the Soaring Eagles on Friday at 7 p.m. and will visit Elmira on Saturday.
