BUFFALO — University at Buffalo senior guard Wes Clark has been named the MAC East Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday morning. He joins CJ Massinburg as the only two Bulls to earn the honor this season.
Playing in just his third game as a Bulls, Clark led the Bulls to an overtime victory over NJIT as he scored a career-high 27 points, including scoring 13 points in overtime for UB. Clark bested his previous career high of 26, which he scored while at Missouri against South Carolina. Clark went 8-of-11 from the floor and 9-of-10 from the free throw line as he helped UB shoot a perfect 100% in overtime. In addition to his 27 points, Clark also added six assists and four steals.
He has at least six assists in all three of his games as a Bull and through three games, he is averaging 19.7 points and 6.7 assists.
Clark and the Bulls open conference play tonight when UB hosts Toledo in the Mid-American Conference opener at 7:00 pm.
