This week’s featured event is The Pride Slam on Friday at Mohawk Place.

Last year it was known as the “Pride Slam to Save LGBTQ Lives”. Now back for seconds, the now annual event put together by FTMP Events & Pure Ink Poetry called “The Pride Slam” will feature a variety of poets in open mic portions & slam battles throughout the night. Presented as an “invitational poetry slam”, this showcase is all about bringing art and beauty out of the hard times these communities face.

The brainchild of Michael John Manning, who has been through it all. This event aims to give back to the organizations that have not only helped him, but so many others stay hopeful, and in homes. “40% OF HOMELESS YOUTH ARE LBGTQ KIDS: HERE IS WHY: NOT.” Here is why not indeed, for everything costs money, and for those with none, every bit helps them spend one more night with food in a warm room.

Micheal Manning, Bianca Mcgraw & Brandon Williamson, Skyler Rutkowski, David Butler, Aaron L. Montgomery, Etcetera, Seth Tyler Black, & many many more will take the stage at this benefit where 100% of the proceeds are being donated to The MOCHA Center of Buffalo & The Pride Center of WNY. So get down to Buffalo’s own Mohawk Place this Friday, January 5th starting at 8:00pm and donate $5 or more at the door for an experience of support and emotion both on & off the stage.
