NORTH HARMONY — A 44-year-old Ashville man was charged Sunday with three counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment.

According to New York State Police, The Troopers responded to a residence in Ashville for a 911 hang-up call and placed Clint Apthorpe under arrest after an investigation concluded that Apthorpe threw a woman to the ground and twice prevented her from calling 911, on one occasion destroying the cell phone.

Apthorpe was processed at SP Jamestown, arraigned in the town of North Harmony Court and released on his own recognizance. Apthorpe is scheduled to reappear in the town of North Harmony Court next month to answer the charges.
