STAFF REPORTS

The Buffalo Bills signed CB Breon Borders today off the Oakland practice squad Saturday, filling the vacant roster spot left behind when OT Cordy Glenn was placed on injured reserve Friday.

Borders, 22, signed with the Raiders as an undrafted rookie this past May. He did not make the 53-man roster and was subsequently signed to the Oakland practice squad, where he’s been all season.

A three-year starter at Duke, Borders (6-0, 180) has a nose for the ball as evidenced by his 12 career interceptions. He also had 26 pass breakups and allowed a completion percentage against of just 38 percent in his final two seasons with the Blue Devils.

Borders has good length and is seen as a good fit for a zone-based scheme like that of Buffalo. Having just signed with the club, he’s not expected to dress for Sunday’s game against Miami.
