DUNKIRK — A 24-year-old Dunkirk man was charged Monday with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, accused of being found with $16,000 worth of methamphetamine.

The charges again Ryan R. Lopez Jr. followed an investigation by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team. This investigation was based in the City of Dunkirk resulted in the seizure of over sixteen ounces of Methamphetamine. Lopez was arraigned in the City of Dunkirk Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.

Assisting agencies in this investigation were the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force, the City of Dunkirk Police Department and the New York State Police in Fredonia.
