SAN JOSE, Calif. — Jason Pominville added his third and fourth goals of the young 2017-2018 season but the population boost wasn’t enough to propel the Buffalo Sabres to victory over the San Jose Sharks.
Tomas Hertl, Chris Tierney and Timo Meier each scored for the Sharks in their 3-2 victory against the still-winless Sabres.
Jack Eichel and Zemgus Girgensons each had two assists for the Sabres, while Robin Lehner made 23 saves in the losing effort.
The Sabres remain on the west coast where they’ll play the Los Angeles Kings at 10:30 p.m. (eastern time) Saturday.
