A Lakeshore Flood Warning has been issued through 4 p.m. by the National Weather Service in Buffalo.

The warning, which replaces a prior Lakeshore Flood Watch is in effect for Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, And Wayne counties, where the combination of high lake levels and wave action may worsen flooding in low lying areas along the Lake Ontario Shoreline.

Flooding and erosion may worsen in low lying areas along the immediate lakeshore.

A Lakeshore Flood Warning means lakeshore flooding is occurring, is imminent or is expected to occur. People in the warning area should take immediate action to protect life and property.
