The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Flash Flood Warning for northern Erie, Wyoming, and Livingston counties, southern Orleans County, western Ontario County, and all of Niagara, Genesee and Monroe counties.
The warning, issued at 9:46 a.m. lasts until 1:45 p.m.
The weather service says doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
Authorities issue the following caution: “Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely.”
