ROCHESTER — Pitcher David Hurlbut has been named the Batavia Downs Gaming and Hotel Player of the Week for June 26-July 2.
Hurlbut made two starts during the week, going 1-1 with 14 strikeouts in 13.1 innings pitched. He allowed just three earned runs in each of his starts: a win against Buffalo June 26, and a 3-0 loss at Lehigh Valley July 2. Hurlbut’s 3.48 ERA is best on the Wings’ staff, and seventh-best in the International League through games of July 2. He has pitched five or more innings in all but one of his 13 starts this season.
