Mike Bolsinger helped end Buffalo’s losing streak going eight innings and striking out seven as the Bisons beat Rochester 3-0 Wednesday night at Coca-Cola Field.

Bolsinger was phenomenal on the mound for the Herd. In his longest outing of the season, he pitched eight scoreless innings striking out seven. Bolsinger did not walk a single Red Wings batter and only allowed four hits. He improved to 3-2 with the win

“Ever since I came back down I’ve been feeling well. I think I figured it out, I’m going to roll with this,” said Bolsinger.

Through four scoreless frames, the Bisons ended the drought in the fifth. Raffy Lopez stepped into the box and led the inning off with a double to right field. Gregorio Petit moved the runner into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt. The next batter, Shane Opitz doubled to left field and J.B. Shuck made a throwing error into second base allowing Lopez to score on the play. Roemon Fields walked, and then Jon Berti picked up his third RBI of the season with a single up the middle to give the Bisons a 2-0 advantage.

Buffalo kept their offense rolling in the seventh. A free pass issued to Raffy Lopez and a pair of singles from Petit and Opitz loaded the bases for the Herd. Fields came through with a sacrifice fly to left scoring the Bisons third run of the game.

Bisons Notes: Shane Opitz was 2-3 with a run scored… Gregorio Petit was 2-2… Raffy Lopez was 1-2 with a walk and two runs scored.
