Laverne Sewar passed away at age 85 on June 23rd, 2017 to be reunited with his sweetheart Kate.
He was a proud Marine and served his country in the Korean Conflict and is a member of the “Dog Seven Association”. He was a member of the Niagara County Democratic Executive Committee and held several elected positions, and retired from the Town of Newfane.
He is predeceased by his wife Catherine Sewar and son K. Michael Sewar.
He is survived by his daughter Michele ( Arthur) Seefeldt; granddaughters Carleen Knarr (Jacques), Jennifer(Michael) Durham, Ashley Sewar; great grandchildren John and Brittany Lewis, Celestia Starr, Serenity and Bella, and his moon and stars Wesley and Neva Jane Durham. He is also survived by his sister Betty Smith and niece Terri (James) McNabb.
Graveside services with military honors will be held in Corwin Cemetery on Monday, June 26 at eleven o’clock.In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the John Oishei Children’s Hospital. Please visit www.rutland-corwin.com to send the family a condolence.
