WATERVILLE, Maine — Rebecca J. Chmiel of East Amherst, was named to the Dean’s List at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2016-17 year. Chmiel is one of 417 Colby students — or 23 percent of the student body — to qualify for the Dean’s List this semester.

Chmiel, a member of the Class of 2017, attended Williamsville East High School and is the daughter of Ronald Chmiel and Catherine Moran of East Amherst, N.Y. Chmiel earned a semester grade point average of 3.77 or higher this spring to be included on Colby’s highly selective Dean’s List. She majored in chemistry and environmental science.
