The oldest member of the Tuscarora Nation, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family. A member of the White Bear Clan, she was born on the Tuscarora Nation on July 19, 1909, the daughter of the late Orsamus and Beatrice (Johnson) Gansworth.
Mrs. Woodbury attended the Red Brick School and Hickory College in Lewiston, NY.
She was a carbon folder with Moore Business Forms for over 30 years, before retiring in 1972.
Mrs. Woodbury was a member of the Tuscarora Baptist Church, the Temperance Society and was actively involved in community events. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and gardening.
She was the wife of the late Joseph H. Woodbury, who passed away in November of 1932.
Mrs. Woodbury in survived by two daughters Carolyn (late Francis) Henry and Donna (T. Charles) Tonemah, her daughter in law Mary Woodbury, seventeen grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Joseph Woodbury.
Her family will be present Thursday from 6-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, with a prayer service at 8:00 PM and on Friday from 10-12 PM at the Tuscarora Baptist Church, 2208 Mt. Hope Road, Sanborn, with funeral services to follow at 12:00 PM, with Walter A. Printup, III officiating.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in her name to the Tuscarora Baptist Church, building fund.
Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
