TOWN OF LOCKPORT — New York State Police say a 64-year-old Brooklyn woman really wanted to get to the Town of Lockport — just not enough to pay for it.

According to a release by NYSP, Troopers charged Maximina Diaz-Lebron for theft of services for failing to pay for cab fare on May 17 after responding to a Robinson Road address for a woman failing to pay for a $471 cab fare from the Syracuse Bus Station to the Robinson Road location.

Diaz-Lebron was placed under arrest and transported to the Lockport State Police Barracks for processing before being arraigned in the Town of Lockport Court and then offered free lodging — at the Niagara County Jail. Bail was set at $500 cash or $1,000 bond.
