BUFFALO STATE ATHLETICS

Buffalo State’s Nick Berst (Depew/Lancaster) has signed a professional contract to play with the Sangliers Arvernes in Clermont-Ferrand, France, located four hours south of Paris.  The team competes in the French Ice Hockey Federation Division 2.

Berst, who completed his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice earlier this month, wrapped up his four-year playing career with the Bengals earlier this season.  After playing three years as a forward, Berst transitioned to defense during his senior season.  In 89 career games, he finished with 17 goals and 35 points, including two goals and two assists and a plus-3 rating from the blue line as a senior.

He will report to the team in mid-August to begin training for the 2017-18 season which faces off in September.
