The Buffalo Bisons announced that National Baseball Hall of Famer TIM RAINES will throw the ceremonial first pitch prior to the Bisons game against the Syracuse Chiefs on Tuesday, May 16 (6:05 p.m.).

Ballpark gates for Tuesday’s game open at 5 p.m. and the Bisons’ “NO RAIN GUARANTEE” promotion is still in effect for the game. Also, as a Ted’s TWOsday, fans can purchase two tickets for the price of one when they show any Ted’s Hot Dog receipt at the Coca-Cola Field Box Office.
Raines was elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America this past January and will be formally inducted into Cooperstown in ceremonies on July 30.
One of the greatest leadoff hitters in Major League Baseball History, Raines played 23 seasons in the big leagues and was a seven-time All-Star and MVP of the 1987 All-Star Game. In 2,502 career games, he hit .294 with a 713 extra-base hits and 980 RBI. He also stole 808 career bases, including 70 or more in six consecutive seasons from 1981-1986. Raines also won a World Series Championship with the New York Yankees in 1996.
