CANISIUS COLLEGE ATHLETICS


The Canisius outdoor track team competed in the ECAC/IC4A Championship Friday from Princeton University, breaking two school records on the day.

Senior Cooper Roach placed second in the 3K steeplechase event with a time of 8:49.61, to break his own school record of 8:58.54 set at last weekend’s MAAC Championship.

Also running in the 3K steeplechase was senior Brennan Root who ended in 10th place with a time of 9:13.07.

In women’s competition, sophomore Siobhan Quinn ran to an 11th place finish in the women’s 5K event, breaking her school record with a time of 16:55.16, while senior Anna Phillips placed 19th in the women’s 10K with a time of 37:01.18.

Senior Galen Snyder also ran as the third competitor for the Griffs on the men’s side, completing the 10K run in 31:34.32, good for an 18th place finish.

The Griffs will race again Saturday when they take part in the St. John Fisher Cardinal Last Chance Meet from Rochester, N.Y.
