NIAGARA UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS

NIAGARA UNIV. — Niagara women’s lacrosse head coach Wendy Stone announced that Amanda Brown has signed her National Letter of Intent (NLI) to join the Purple Eagles for the 2018 season. Brown joins an incoming freshman class that includes fall signees Meghan Howe, Isabella Orlando, Cierra Scheik, Alyssa Sproule, and Mackenzie Travis.

“We are very excited to announce the addition of Amanda Brown to our fifth recruiting class,” Stone said. “Her size, speed and athleticism will add to what is already a very talented recruiting class.”

Brown has experience playing both midfield and defense for Windsor High School in Windsor, Conn. as well as the CT Dodgers lacrosse club. In the 2016 season, the 5-foot-9 Brown earned Connecticut All-State Class M Second Team honors and was named to the Connecticut Super Junior Team. In both 2015 and 2016, she was named to the Central Connecticut Conference Team and played for the Connecticut state team in the US Lacrosse National Tournament.

A member of the National Honor Society and the Rho Kappa Honor Society, Brown earned Central CT Conference All-Academic Team honors in 2014 and 2015, and she also made the Honor Roll at Windsor in those years. Brown intends to major in nursing at Niagara University.
