Jane R. Rathke of Wrights Corners, wife of the late Wilbert O. Rathke entered into rest on Saturday May 6, 2017. She was born in Buffalo, NY on March 2, 1924, the daughter of the late David and Valerie Campbell Meek.
Jane worked at A & P Grocery, Lockport Felt Mill, Suits Flower Shop in Wrights Corners, NY and as a Court Clerk in Newfane Town Court for her husband Judge Wilbert O. Rathke . She enjoyed traveling, volunteering for Olcott Beach Carousal Park and was a member of Saint Brendan on the lake Parish, Newfane Tourism Committee, Wrights Corners Ladies Auxiliary, Dale Association, Newfane Seniors and a charter member of Barge Canal Optimist she also served on the Election Board.
Mother of Nancie (Norman “Fuzzy”) LaRuffa of Newfane, NY, Barbara (Albert) Miller of Burt, NY, Judi (Richard) Wignall of Niagara Falls, Ontario and Audrey (Richard) Jex of Wrights Corners. Daughter in law of the late Mary Gill. Sister of the late Shirley Champion and David Meek Jr.. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Family and friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY on WEDNESDAY from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on THURSDAY at 11AM in St. Brendan on the Lake Parish (St. Charles Site). Burial will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery.
