This week’s featured event is A Gathering to Celebrate the Life of Tony Lorenzo on Sunday at the Waiting Room.
Guitarist and founder of esteemed Buffalo metal outfit Sons Of Azrael, Tony Lorenzo, has just left us at the age of 30. He was still shredding locally after being shot and partially paralyzed in 2011 during an armed robbery in the Elmwood Village area, but in the end we are all only mortals. Although his most known project has been inactive since 2012 after the passing of vocalist Joe Siracuse, he still stayed as involved in music as much as he could.
Our friend, our brother, son, nephew, warrior. Tony has left behind a legacy of music and memories and on Sunday, May 7th, a show has been put together to honor this great man. The Waiting Room will open it’s doors at 2:00 p.m., with live music starting at 3:00 p.m. featuring some of Buffalo’s best metal acts including Hubris, Nethergrave, Prepare For The Mindscan, Disrepair, Sons Of Ghidorah, Hellcannon, Longest War, Enthauptung, Sulaco, & Tines.
