BUFFALO — The first Slow Roll of 2017 has been canceled due to severe weather.

The announcement was made by the Buffalo Police Department shortly after 3 p.m. via Twitter:

Slow Roll organizers had said late this morning that they were monitoring the weather with cancellation being possible due to lighting or “similarly severe weather.”

Buffalo — and all of Western New York — is under a tornado watch and flood watch until late tonight.

Tonight’s ride was slated to meet Niagara Square and take riders along South Elmwood, Franklin, Linwood, Delaware, Niagara, Porter, North, Ellicott and Pearl streets.
