APPLETON — In 1987, Sisters in Crime was formed to promote the ongoing advancement, recognition and professional development of women crime writers. Today, there are chapters throughout the country. Murder On Ice is the newly formed chapter in Western New York. The group meets monthly so members can help and support each other and hold educational sessions.

To celebrate, Murder On Ice will be holding at event at 6 p.m. May 20 at the Winery at Marjim Manor. Local published authors will have books to sell which they will autograph. Scheduled to greet guests are Joan Baier, Deborah Benjamin, PM Carlson, Kate Collier, Vicki Delany AKA Eva Gates,
Barbara Early AKA Beverly Allen, Alicey Loweccey, Lissa Redmond, Jim Toner, Joyce Tremel, Christine Wenger, and Linda Wiken — also known as Erica Chase.

Refreshments will include savory hors d’oeuvres and desserts from Sinful Sweets.

To add to the festivities, guests will have the opportunity to solve the murder at the book signing. Critic and keynote speaker E. Bert Siskel is found dead at the beginning of the evening. Which author did the dastardly deed.

Tickets are $35 each and are available by calling the winery at 716-778-7330.
