AMITY — A pair of Jamestown women are facing charges following a traffic stop on Wednesday on ST-244.
According to New York State Police, 22-year-old Latisha N Postell was stopped for failing to dim her high beams. Upon interviewing Postell, the odor of marijuana was noted coming from the vehicle. After a legal search of the vehicle, a small amount marijuana and several methadone pills were located in the vehicle. Postell admitted to possessing the marijuana, while her passenger, 20-year-old Jasmine Arroyo admitted to possessing the pills.
Postell was issued an appearance for the unlawful possession of marijuana and a traffic ticket for failing to dim high beams. Arroyo was taken, where she was charged with seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance and having a controlled substance outside prescribed container.
Both subjects are slated to reappear in the Town of Amity court later this month.
