ALFRED — A 22-year-old Chenango Forks man is facing charges of theft and criminal mischief after house sitting for an East Valley Road family.
According to New York State Police, Daniel L Haskell had been allowed him to house sit while the East Valley Road family was out of town. When the family returned home, they found several items in the house were damaged or missing. A Polaris ranger and ATV owned by the family were also damaged by Haskell.
Haskell came to SP Amity where he was charged with third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle, petit larceny, and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was processed without incident and issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Alfred court later this month.
