Canisius College runner Dylan Lowry of Buffalo was a first-time winner of the 19th Annual Canisius College Shoes for the Shelter 5K, presented by Independent Health, with a time of 15:39. Kim Vona was also a first-time champion of the women’s event with a time of 18:01.

Canisius Athletics has collected over 35,152 pairs of shoes since the race commenced. A full count of shoes received for this year’s race will be announced at a later date.

Other winners today included Kyle Griffin, who won the Canisius student race in a time of 18:40, while Annelise Westermeier was the top female student with a clocking of 21:07.

Winning the faculty-staff event was Michael Marino with a time of 19:51, while the top female was Kelli Graber who clocked in with a time of 23:22.

The alumni race went to Mike Kushion, who completed the course in 18:07 while Mary Lawrence posted the top women’s alumni time for the second the second year in a row with a mark of 19:33.

Independent Health winners were Michael Matecki on the men’s side (26:14) and Andrea Ridings List (22:06) in the female race.
