BUFFALO — Robert Acker, 34, of Cheektowaga, who was convicted of possession of child pornography, was sentenced to 36 months in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release, by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Scott S. Allen, Jr., who handled the case, stated that on Sept. 1, Special Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force, executed a search warrant at the defendant’s residence and seized several electronic devices and DVDs. A forensic examination revealed that Acker was in possession of more than 34,000 images and 918 videos of child pornography, some of which depict prepubescent children less than 12 years of age, and some of which depict images of violence.
