The Canisius outdoor track program competed in day one of the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic Friday evening, completing one of its most successful days in recent memory, with the Blue and Gold seeing three program records broken for the day.

Senior Cooper Roach broke a school record in the men’s 1500 meter event, placing fifth with a time of 3:46.49.

Junior Carlin Sullivan broke the second Canisius record of the night in the same event on the women’s side, placing 45th in the 1500, with a time of 4:38.80.

Sophomore Siobhan Quinn continued her strong season, breaking a 26-year-old record in the women’s 5k event that was held by former Griff Heather Whalen (17:22.48). Quinn placed 19th overall in the 5k, with a time of 17:08.91.

Also running well were seniors Brennan Root (14:53.51) and Xavier Sauvageau (14:54.17), finishing fourth and sixth respectively in the unseeded 5k race.

The Golden Griffins will continue their efforts at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic Saturday morning, with day two of events beginning at 11 a.m.
