BUFFALO — Junior Erica Evans has been tabbed the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season, and the second time in as many weeks, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

The midfielder totaled a team-high nine goals and 13 points in two conference wins this week. Evans also added 11 ground balls, 10 draw controls and five caused turnovers over the two games.

In a 25-11 win over Siena on Wednesday, Evans scored five goals and added two assists, breaking the Canisius career goals record, of 154, held by former Griffs Megan Oosting and Tori Quinn. The Peterborough, Ontario native had one of her best all around games of the season in the win over the Saints, adding seven ground balls, nine draw controls and two caused turnovers.

In an 18-3 victory over Monmouth on Saturday, Evans became only the fifth player in program history to reach the 200-point mark, totaling six points on four goals.

The MAAC Preseason Player of the Year also totaled four ground balls, one draw control and three caused turnovers.

Evans has now recorded six points or more in six consecutive games, with the Blue and Gold gaining victories in each contest.

The Griffs will look to continue their strong MAAC play when the travel to Poughkeepsie this Wednesday for a 4 p.m. matchup against Marist.
