BUFFALO – University at Buffalo men’s basketball sophomore Nikola Rakicevic was one of 17 athletes named to the Academic All-MAC Team, the conference office announced on Wednesday.

Rakicevic has a 3.720 GPA in management and played in 21 games before missing the final three games and the conference tournament due to a season-ending injury. He made three starts on the year and tied his career high with 14 points at Kent State as he went 6-of-11 from floor.  He had eight points against Ohio and scored four points in seven of his 21 games.  He averaged 2.6 points and 1.3 rebounds per game.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
