BUFFALO — In their last opportunity to give the hometown fans a win to watch at KeyBank Center, the Buffalo Sabres delivered on Wednesday night, beating the Montreal Canadiens by a score of 2-1.

Rasmus Ristolainen scored his sixth of the season at 6:01 of the first period, assisted by Josh Gorges and Jack Eichel.

Tyler Ennis made it 2-0 at 11:35 of the second, assisted by Evander Kane and Ryan O’Reilly.

Tomas Plekanec made it 2-1 to open the third period, but the Canadiens could not tally the tying goal.

Buffalo has two more games to play in the 2016-2017 season, both away games against Florida teams.
