WILLIAMSVILLE — Amherst resident Jill Bronsky, a certified personal trainer and owner of Forward Fitness Inc., will launch her new book, “Keeping Your Parents Active and Independent,” at 6:30 p.m. April 20, at Elderwood Village at Williamsville, 5271 Main St.

Ms. Bronsky has been leading seniors in group training sessions for more than 15 years. Her book explores ways to encourage elderly family members to stay active in order to improve their functional mobility, balance and strength, reduce the risk of falls and maintain their independence.

“Jill’s strategies for encouraging older adults to stay physically active are the foundation of the fun and creative exercise classes she has offered here for years,” said Administrator Robin Secord. “We are happy to offer the public an opportunity to meet with this energetic local author and we’re excited to help her celebrate this next step in her career.”

The book launch is free and open to the public. Refreshments and giveaways will be offered. In addition, Ms. Bronsky will be signing copies of her book, which can be purchased during the launch event at a special discounted rate.
