CLEVELAND, Ohio – The University at Buffalo’s Tyler Scheving was named MAC Track Athlete of Week, as announced Tuesday morning by the conference office. This comes on the heels of an impressive weekend that left Scheving with a new school record and a new personal best.

The first meet of the 2017 outdoor track and field season saw several first place finishes from numerous Bulls. Tyler Scheving’s performance put his name in the record book, after coming in first in the 800m with a time of 1:48.37. His time broke the previous school record set in 2015. His time was a personal best for the athlete and was a MAC Auto-Qualifying time. Scheving currently ranks first in the MAC in the 800m and second in the NCAA East. His time was also ranked first in the 800m on the Top-Ten marks of the collegiate weekend for the week of March 20-26 according to USTFCCCA.

Scheving is the first Athlete of the Week from Buffalo for the outdoor season.
