ITHACA — Janie Kleinberg, a Rochester native and Athletic Training major at Ithaca College, was among 16 student athletes to be placed on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association’s National Academic Squad last week. This honor recognizes players who have held a cumulative grade-point average above a 3.30 through the first semester of the 2016-17 year.

Ithaca’s 16 members on the academic squad tied Hartwick for the most of any Empire 8 institution.

In addition to being placed on the National Academic Squad, Kleinberg was also tabbed a NFHCA Scholar of Distinction. In order to earn placement on the Scholars of Distinction list, student athletes must carry a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.90.

From day one, Ithaca College prepares students for success through hands-on experience with internships, research and study abroad.
