Independent Health and Shared Mobility Inc. will soon launch Reddy Bikeshare’s second season, which will bring back 200 “smart” bicycles with GPS capabilities to 35 stations throughout the city of Buffalo.

The bike share program launched its first season on July 21, 2016 and makes bicycles easily available to individuals for shared use on a short-term basis, allowing users to pick up a bike from one of the stations and return it to any other designated location. The bikes track calories burned, distance traveled, ride duration, and an estimated reduction in carbon dioxide. The bikes are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the season.

Reddy Bikeshare boasted a successful first season and is looking to increase membership and ridership this year through visitors and tourists to the city, along with Buffalo area residents and downtown employees. Annual and monthly memberships will be available for purchase starting April 3. In honor of the season two kick-off, Reddy Bikeshare is offering 50% off of all annual memberships purchased in the month of April.
