ROCHESTER — Highland Hospital’s 2017 Gala will be held at 6 p.m. April 8 at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center. Funds raised through the gala will support the technological and equipment upgrades needed to outfit Highland’s new Hybrid Operating Room.

This year’s gala features a “By the Sea” theme. Guests will experience the alluring seaside, with beach inspired décor and food. The cocktail hour will feature entertainment from the Alfred St. John’s Trinidad & Tobago Steelband and, after dinner, guests will have the chance to dance the night away with dueling pianos from The Flying Ivories.

The new Hybrid Operating Room will enable Highland to serve a more diverse patient population and offer an expanded vascular service. It has built-in, advanced medical imaging devices such as x-ray machines and CT scanners to help surgeons perform minimally invasive surgeries using catheters or endoscopes. The technology in this operating room will be used for endovascular procedures such as stent placements, different types of bypass grafts, and endovascular aortic aneurysm repairs. It can also be used for regular, nonvascular operations as well. It is scheduled for completion in late August 2017.

Ticket information is available online at www.highlandgala.urmc.edu.
