JAMESTOWN — A 44-year-old Jamestown man was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on Route 430.

According to New York State Police, Matthew Carlson was pulled over for a traffic violation and determined to be intoxicated. When a bag containing marijuana was found in Carlson’s possession he was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. He was taken to the Jamestown Troopers’ barracks where he provided a breath sample of .13 percent blood alcohol.

He was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Ellicott Court and released with orders to appear later in the month to answer the charges.
