George Huntington, age 100, of Lockport, NY husband of the late Earlendine Shutt Huntington entered into rest on Wednesday March 22, 2017 in Briody Health Care Facility. George was born in Somerset, NY on December 30, 1916, the son of the late Charles and Nina Harold Huntington.
George served in the U.S. Army military police and worked as a fork truck repairman for the Chevy Plant in Tonawanda. George and Earlendine were married for 75 years. They wintered in Florida for 25 years and he enjoyed wood working, crafts, gardening, camping and playing cards. George was also a Scout Master for the Barker Troop.
Father of Carol (William) Copeland of Maryland, Kathie (William) Smith of Barker, NY, Debra (Brian) Koons of Lockport, NY, James (Audrey) Huntington of Ashland, OH, Richard (Diane) Huntington of Waterport, NY, Douglas (Laurie) Huntington of Elba, NY and the late Dianne Lee Matheis. Brother of the late Deforest Huntington, Emma Rhoadhouse, Floyd Huntington and Ethel Genet. Also survived by 29 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren. Father in law of George Matheis.
Family and friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY on FRIDAY 4-8PM where a Funeral service will be held on SATURDAY at 11AM. Burial will be in Somerset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of one’s choice.
