NIAGARA FALLS — A 27-year-old Niagara Falls woman was charged early this morning with with driving while intoxicated with an infant in the car — a Leandra’s Law violation.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, an NCSO road patrol initiated a traffic stop in the McDonald’s parking lot after a vehicle was observed passing a red light at the intersection of Niagara Falls Boulevard and Military Road.
Shayonna S. Miller was determined to be intoxicated and charged with aggravated DWI for having a blood alcohol content greater than .18 percent, aggravated unlicensed operation, switched plates, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, driving an uninspected motor vehicle, passing a red light and endangering the welfare of a child.
Child Protective Services was contacted to continue with the investigation, while Miller was taken to the Niagara County Jail in lieu of bail set in the amount of $750. She is due in Niagara Falls City Court on Wednesday.
