NIAGARA FALLS — The Niagara Arts and Cultural Center is looking for artists of all ages and backgrounds to participate in the NACC’s 13th Annual Beyond the Barrel Exhibit: NF125, which celebrates the collective work of Niagara’s astounding artists and craftsmen, proving that Niagara has so much more to offer than what initially comes to mind.

NACC Gallery Director Rachel M. Olszewski explains that the NF125 exhibit is envisioned as an exposition of artworks that celebrate the City of Niagara Falls 125th Anniversary by recognizing it’s beauty, history, renaissance, and civic pride. It will feature Judges Michael Beam of the Castellani Art Museum, James Neiss, celebrated photographer for the Niagara Gazette, & Ally Spongr, Special Projects Director for the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area.

Artworks of all mediums and styles – two-dimensional and three-dimensional – are eligible for entry to this juried show.

Prizes will be awarded for the following:

  • Excellence in Sculpture $100.00,
  • Excellence in Painting $100.00,
  • Excellence in Mixed Media $100.00,
  • The Barbara Maloney Tribute Award for Excellence in Photography, $100.00.

Suggested Themes include Niagara Falls, history, #LiveNF, state park, Niagara renaissance, culture, wonder of the world, daredevils, escarpment, local plants and wildlife, suspension nridge, Niagara heroes, Olmsted, Art Park, gorge, tourism, Honeymoon Capital, waterways, City in the Parks, Hyde Park, architecture, natural wonder.

Beyond the Barrel: NF125 Exhibition will open with an Artists’ Reception from 5 – 7 p.m. May 5. Awards will be presented at 6:30 p.m. The Exhibition will close on Aug 6th, 2017.
