UB Athletics has named Jessica Goldyn and Brian Lantry as its athletes of the week.

Goldyn hit .429 over UB’s three games this past week as she went 3-for-7 from the plate with three runs batted in.  Goldyn went a perfect 2-for-2 from the plate against Big Ten foe Maryland as she drove in a pair of runs against the Terps.  On Sunday, Goldyn drove in a run in the bottom of the first against Binghamton.  The freshman catcher has recorded hits in three of her last four games.

Lantry became the first UB wrestler since Kyle Cerminara in 2006 to advance to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championships. The redshirt-sophomore won his opening match, 3-1, over Lock Haven’s D.J. Fehlman. In his second match, Lantry earned a takedown with just seven seconds remaining to upset six-seeded Dom Forys of Pittsburgh, 5-4. After losing in the quarterfinals, Lantry had one more shot to earn All-American status. However, he lost a tough 6-4 overtime heartbreaker to ninth-seeded Scotty Parker of Lehigh to end his run.
