MACHIAS — New York State Troopers on Wednesday, charged Hillary J. Austin, 32, and Joshua J. Border, 40, both of Machias with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Police say Austin was stopped on Lake Street for a vehicle and traffic law violation. During the interview, Austin gave consent to search the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, a glass pipe with crack cocaine residue was located in possession of Austin, and two wax paper baggies containing heroin was located in possession of Border.
Both were transported to SP Machias for processing and issued appearance tickets returnable in the Town of Machias Court later this month.
